Halloween is upon us, and if you’re like me, you might not want to be sipping on orange cocktails all night. While I love the creepy spirit, I don’t always want to drink it! Use this tip to give any drink a spooky feel – and it only calls for 2 ingredients you probably have sitting in the back of your cupboard.
Already have the candy bowls out but still searching for a way to add a little Halloween spirit to the adult side of your party? Grab some glasses, and go for this 5-minute embellishment. It can even be done hours ahead!
I used a new recipe I’m working on to replicate an iconic NYC drink, Serendipity 3’s Frrozen Hot Chocolate, and it turned out great. I’ll share the recipe soon, stay tuned!
For the spooky embellishment, it’s as simple as mixing light corn syrup with red food coloring. Add enough to make a blood red color, rim glasses, and use a toothpick or q-tip to encourage drips down the side of the glass. I saw this tip demonstrated beautifully by fellow The Kitchn contributor Marueen Petrosky, and wanted to share it with all of you. Happy Halloween!
