Are you looking for a fun and memorable way to experience NYC’s food scene? Come join us as we make a variety of unique and famous NYC restaurant dishes in a format fun for all cooking levels. Choose from the full-course menu options below and check out our feature video to help give an idea of what our classes are all about.
After years of developing recipes and food blogging for the James Beard award-winning website The Kitchn, Stephanie started City Cookin’ where she focused on re-creating top NYC restaurant dishes. When friends and family kept asking her to share her tasty recipes and techniques, Steph launched City Cookin’ Classes.
She’s part investigative journalist, part taste-tester, and a good dash of reverse engineer – thousands of YouTube hits and happy customers echo that her re-creations of NYC restaurant dishes like Nobu’s yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno are spot-on. She teaches hands-on methods to help take the mystery out of restaurant cooking, and most importantly, City Cookin’ recipes are tailored to the home cook and will 100% work when you make them again (and again!) at home.
What customers are saying:
“Stephanie taught us how to prepare some of the best dishes we have tasted in NYC including the scrumptious Levain cookies – which we now make a bit too often for our waistlines. She sends you the recipes so you can continue to make them in the future!” – Ashleigh M., Yelp
“Awesome experience with very friendly people. Stephanie knows what she’s doing and makes replicating famous dishes simple even for the most kitchen-challenged such as myself.” – Josh S., Yelp
What’s included:
One-on-one instruction, 3-course meal including cocktails, use of aprons and all equipment needed to cook and the inside scoop (including recipes) to some of NYC’s best dishes!
What to expect:
Our classes are set up as a 2.5hr hands-on cooking experience where you learn to recreate some of NYC’s best dishes. Small class sizes (max 6 people) mean plenty of time to ask questions and get involved with each step of the preparation. We cook a full 3-course meal with a small group setting in a NYC apartment, and best of all, you eat what you make!
What to bring:
Just bring yourself! We supply aprons, cooking tools, and of course, all the food! Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing and tie back any long hair.
Gift Certificates:
Looking for a fun experience to give as a gift and not ready to commit to a class date? Gift certificates can be used for any class with availability and are valid for 6 months. Give the gift of a unique cooking class experience and enjoy the recipes and meals cooked for years to come!
Cancellation Policy:
We have a 72-hour cancellation policy to ensure that we have enough time to re-fill your seat with another student. We do not issue refunds after the cancellation period. Contact us at classes@citycookin.com with any questions. See additional terms and conditions.
